Humiliation for Robbie Williams as Rudebox is dumped in bargain bin
Friday 16 May 2008 - 01:04:41 | verser233_adminHE may have won 15 Brit awards but pop star Robbie Williams' stock has now fallen so far that a leading retailer is flogging his latest album for just 46 pence.
The controversial Rudebox, branded by some critics as the worst of the troubled star's 10 solo albums, has been consigned to the bargain bin by online store Amazon.
The album, which is also Williams' lowest selling effort, originally sold for £15.99 when it was released.
But now Amazon, the UK's No.1 online retailer, has slashed the price of the flop record as it tries to shift the remaining copies.
The move comes just months after record label EMI reportedly shipped one million unsold copies of Rudebox to China to be recycled and used for resurfacing roads.
The album was also widely panned by critics who described it as "a disaster".
At the 2006 NME awards it was voted worst album of the year.
Williams' management company refused to comment.
Take That gear up for 2nd LP
Friday 16 May 2008 - 01:02:43 | verser233_adminTAKE THAT are preparing to hit the studio to record a new album — cutting short what was meant to be an extended break after just four months.
After scooping two gongs at the Brit awards in February, GARY BARLOW, MARK OWEN, JASON ORANGE and HOWARD DONALD declared they were going to be out of the game for a while.
But a meeting ten days ago in London has shown they are well up for getting back to work.

Time to Take That and party
Tuesday 13 May 2008 - 21:14:21 | verser233_adminTime was when the idea of a major Take That musical in the West End would have looked a risky endeavour. Songbook musicals were usually critically panned and rarely ran for long, even those featuring the music of Elvis and The Beatles, surely the most solid of back-catalogues. But that was before the advent of Mamma Mia! and We Will Rock You. With dimwitted plots and cartoonish acting grafted, respectively, onto the songs of Abba and Queen, these shows have defied critics to run for years in London, spawning numerous overseas productions and spinning major amounts of money. With the strictly biographical Jersey Boys also doing well, it looked like the curse of the compilation had been broken.

Tuesday 13 May 2008 - 21:12:20 | verser233_adminLulu is backing newly reformed boyband Take That to record the theme song to the new 'Jamed Bond' film.
Troubled singer Amy Winehouse was said to be collaborating with acclaimed DJ Mark Ronson on the title track for the upcoming 'Quantum Of Solace', but the project now hangs in question after the super producer told the media: "I'm not sure Amy is ready to work on music yet."
But pop singer Lulu, 59 - who recorded the theme to 'The Man With The Golden Gun' in 1974 - is convinced the British fourpiece could handle the challenge of writing an iconic track for the superspy franchise.

Hová hízol, Robbie?
Friday 02 May 2008 - 10:31:01 | verser233_adminLOS ANGELES – A nők egykori bálványa borzasztóan meghízott az utóbbi időben. Robbie Williams a minap Kaliforniában golfozott családjával és színésznő barátnőjével, Ayda Fielddel, ekkor kapta lencsevégre egy szemfüles fotós.
A képeken jól látható felpüffedt arca és hordóhasa. Nagy példaképének, Elvisnek is volt kövér korszaka, ám most, úgy látszik, Robbie ebben túlszárnyalja őt.

TAKE THAT - BARLOW HITS OUT AT 'BORING' RADIO STATIONS
Thursday 17 April 2008 - 22:53:10 | verser233_adminTAKE THAT star GARY BARLOW has criticised U.S. radio stations - branding their playlists "boring".
The British singer hates the way stations in America always stick to playing the same songs over and over - insisting the public soon tire of hearing repeated tracks.
He says, "The radio plays records too much in America. It's monotonous."
But Barlow still enjoys hearing his own songs over the air waves.
He adds, "When you switch on the radio and you hear your song I'm excited. It's still a buzz for me."
